All online appointments have been removed with immediate effect in line with guidance from NHS England. This is to reduce the risk of a patient presenting at the surgery with Coronavirus. This service will be reinstated once we are advised it is safe to do so.

Appointments

Consultations are by appointment only except in an emergency.

Routine Appointments

For a routine appointment, please call 0191 388 7771 between 08:30 and 18:00. You will be offered a time for the next available surgery appointment. A specifically named doctor appointment may be further in the future than an “any doctor” appointment due to individual doctor’s commitments. There are normally surgery appointment times between 08.00 and 11:30 and 14:00 and 18:00 each weekday, and a limited number of pre-booked only appointments on Thursday nights.

Weekday General Medical Problems Including Urgent Appointment Requests

If you have a problem please telephone as soon as possible, ideally between 08:30 and 10:00 on the day. If no routine appointment is available you will  be able to speak to the Doctor or a Nurse Practitioner on the phone. The Doctor / Nurse Practitioner will discuss the problem with you and ensure that you are offered appropriate medical help or advice, including an appropriate appointment if needed (usually within 24 – 48 hours).

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. Repeated failure to do so may ultimately result in de-registration.
