Our Allied Health Professionals

We have pharmacists, a midwife and health visitors attached to our practice.

Cestria Health Centre is part of Durham East Primary Care Network (PCN) who provide the following additional roles:

  • First contact physiotherapist
  • Social prescribing link worker (see below for more information)
  • GP aligned mental health worker
  • Care coordinator

Social Prescribing Link Worker

Some of our patients need support with financial or housing issues or may be socially isolated. They may have problems affording energy bills. Our social prescribing link worker can help-speak to the GP for more information.

Health Visitors

Telephone 03000 268640. A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.

Community Matrons and Nurses

The Community Matrons and Nurses  specialise in the care of people who need nursing in their own home. They also have a role in health promotion and providing routine check-ups for the housebound.

Midwives

Midwives help with care during and for 10 days after pregnancy.

Other Attached Staff

We also have access to Dieticians, Podiatrists and other professionals, and we host services such as Hearing Aid Fitting and ENT Clinics, Skin surgery and Dermatology.
